Senior Java Developer

About the role

Anaqua is looking for a Senior Java Developer to own core backend services on the RightHub platform, a distributed, domain‑driven Java system on Google Cloud Platform. You will design, implement, and operate services that power IP management for enterprises and law firms worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain end‑to‑end services on a modern Java + Spring Boot stack, including deployment and monitoring.
• Design domain events, event processors, and integration flows with idempotency and eventual‑consistency guarantees.
• Extend shared platform libraries such as authentication, async task handling, and common infrastructure.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and contract tests.
• Drive performance and reliability improvements, including query optimisation and capacity planning.
• Mentor mid‑level engineers, conduct code reviews, and produce technical design documentation.
• Collaborate with frontend teams on Next.js features that cross service boundaries.

Required profile

• 5+ years of production‑grade Java engineering experience with full service ownership.
• Deep expertise in Spring Boot in production environments.
• Strong understanding of distributed‑systems concepts such as async messaging, retries, and bounded contexts.
• Experience with event‑sourcing and domain‑driven design patterns.
• Proven ability to design contract‑first APIs using OpenAPI.
• Hands‑on experience with PostgreSQL schema design, indexing, and query optimisation.
• Operational experience running services on Kubernetes (GKE) in production.
