Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

About the role

As a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) you will work with customers to build and productionize solutions to their data and AI challenges using the Databricks platform. You will own the architecture, lead design decisions, and implement end‑to‑end systems spanning data engineering, AI, and application development.

Key responsibilities

• Lead production‑grade customer projects, designing reference architectures, custom applications, data ingestion pipelines, and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through end‑to‑end big‑data and AI implementations, collaborating with engagement managers to scope technical delivery.
• Provide architectural guidance, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and aligned with Databricks best practices.
• Collaborate with Databricks technical teams, project managers, architects, and customer stakeholders to deliver technical components.
• Embed with customer teams, engaging from technical contributors to executives to understand challenges and deliver impact.
• Contribute reusable accelerators, frameworks, and best‑practice assets that influence the product roadmap.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in data engineering, AI, data platforms, and analytics.
• Proven ability to design and deploy performant end‑to‑end data architectures that combine pipelines, ML/AI models, and user‑facing interfaces.
• Hands‑on experience with MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Experience delivering technical projects, managing scope, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Strong documentation and white‑boarding skills, and experience working with enterprise clients.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites up to 20% of the time and hold a Databricks certification.
