Senior Engineering Manager, Consumer

About the role

As the engineering leader on our Consumer team, you will oversee teams responsible for the direct‑to‑consumer user experience. You will work closely with Product, Design, User Research and other stakeholders to build full‑stack features that guide users through the pre‑application, application, package selection and checkout funnels.

Key responsibilities

• Lead high‑impact tech and product initiatives to accelerate business growth.
• Collaborate with product, design, content and marketing to ideate and experiment with new product strategies.
• Use quantitative and qualitative insights to make data‑informed decisions.
• Own and obsess over your pod’s core metrics and KPIs.
• Uphold a strong bar for engineering velocity, delivery and execution.
• Review design and architecture and mentor the team.
• Recruit, hire, grow and retain A+ engineering talent.
• Provide meaningful feedback to enable team work and growth.

Required profile

• 3+ years of engineering management experience in high‑growth engineering organizations.
• 5+ years of engineering experience as an individual contributor.
• Experience building large, business‑critical, cross‑functional projects with deep business logic understanding.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with product to craft strategy for new business opportunities.
• Ability to own consumer‑focused metrics such as ARPU, conversion, retention, and churn.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in cross‑functional groups.
• Self‑starter who can get things moving without much guidance.
• Experience implementing process best practices within a rapidly growing team.
• Ability to build focused roadmaps and make difficult trade‑offs.
