Senior Engineer - Quality Blade Plant

About the role

The Senior Engineer – Quality Blade Plant will lead non‑destructive testing (NDT) activities for wind turbine blade components. Working closely with QA and production teams, you will ensure blade integrity by detecting internal defects and supporting corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ultrasonic testing (UT), thermographic inspection and shearography on blade components to identify delaminations, voids, cracks and other anomalies.
• Analyze inspection results and document defect locations, providing recommendations for corrective actions.
• Calibrate and maintain all NDT equipment, including ultrasonic probes and thermal cameras, in line with industry standards.
• Maintain detailed inspection records and prepare comprehensive reports on blade quality.
• Support repair or re‑work of defective components and conduct re‑inspections to verify effectiveness.
• Ensure all NDT activities comply with ISO 9712 and internal manufacturing specifications.
• Stay updated on NDT technology advancements and contribute to continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience in NDT of wind turbine blades or similar composite structures.
• Strong knowledge of ultrasonic, thermographic and shearographic techniques.
• Familiarity with ISO 9712 standards and NDT equipment calibration procedures.
• Ability to interpret inspection data and work collaboratively with engineering and production teams.
