Senior DevOps Software Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer – DevOps to join its Payments Network group in Pune. The role focuses on designing, building, and automating scalable solutions that keep critical Mastercard services highly available, secure, and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and manage DevOps solutions for Mastercard applications and infrastructure.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, and deployment of Linux servers, virtual machines, and containers using tools such as Ansible, Chef, Jenkins, Git, and Artifactory.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, end‑to‑end automation, and continuous integration across a globally distributed engineering environment.
• Perform performance analysis, complex troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and tuning for services on RHEL/CentOS platforms.
• Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability to prevent customer impact and respond to incidents following ITIL practices.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Linux administration, especially RHEL/CentOS.
• Proven track record in DevOps, automation, and CI/CD in large‑scale environments.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with development, operations, product, and infrastructure teams.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes such as Incident, Change, and Problem Management.
