Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Avathon is a leading Industrial AI autonomy platform helping heavy‑industry customers accelerate autonomous operations. The company is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its fast‑growing, agile team in Bengaluru. The role focuses on building and operating cloud‑native infrastructure that powers AI‑driven applications across sectors such as energy, mining, manufacturing and logistics.

Key responsibilities

• Design and continuously improve the infrastructure for cloud‑based services and client interfaces.
• Manage day‑to‑day operations of build, testing and continuous integration pipelines.
• Collaborate with internal IT, software engineers, cloud architects and fellow DevOps engineers to build and maintain development and production environments.
• Implement best practices to ensure always‑up, always‑available services.
• Proactively communicate project and task status to stakeholders.
• Provide occasional on‑call support and attend customer meetings as needed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of production‑grade Kubernetes experience (GKE preferred), including Helm chart creation, Service Mesh (Istio) and autoscaling (HPA/VPA).
• Proven ability to design container‑native CI/CD pipelines and manage cluster state using GitOps tools such as ArgoCD.
• Hands‑on experience with Infrastructure as Code, especially Terraform, for provisioning cloud resources.
• Strong background in observability and reliability using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK/Loki and distributed tracing.
• Solid Linux administration skills with scripting proficiency in Python, Bash or Go.
