Senior Designer – Plumbing & Fire Protection

About the role

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Designer to lead the development of plumbing and fire‑protection systems for large‑scale projects. You will translate conceptual ideas into detailed designs that meet safety, sustainability and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed plumbing and fire‑protection system designs, including water supply, drainage, stormwater and specialty systems.
• Prepare design drawings, schematics, layouts and construction documents using BIM tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Perform system sizing calculations and verify compliance with codes and standards (IPC, UPC, NFPA).
• Coordinate with HVAC, electrical, structural and other internal disciplines as well as external stakeholders.
• Assist in preparing technical specifications and design reports.
• Review vendor submittals, shop drawings and technical documentation.
• Support construction activities through RFIs, site queries and design clarifications.
• Embed quality, safety and sustainability considerations in all designs.
• Participate in design reviews, value‑engineering sessions and project meetings.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering from an institute recognized by the COA India.
• Relevant professional experience in plumbing and fire‑protection design.

Required skills

• Proficiency with BIM tools – Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of IPC, UPC and NFPA codes.
• Ability to perform system sizing calculations.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.
