Senior Design Engineer – Sheet Metal Press Tools

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to lead the design of sheet‑metal dies, press tools and related fixtures for new product development at our Bhosari plant. The role involves creating innovative concepts, ensuring design standardisation and delivering high‑quality documentation to support manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Design sheet‑metal dies, welding fixtures and gauges for new products.
• Develop concept layouts, alternate designs and perform design calculations.
• Create 3D models, generate 2D drawings and add 3D annotations.
• Monitor team designs, compile Bills of Materials and hand over files to the Tool Room.
• Prepare technical presentations, document best practices and standard procedures.
• Conduct tool trials, prepare samples and implement corrective actions for process capability.
• Ensure compliance with quality parameters, GD&T and DFMEA requirements.
• Apply knowledge of tool manufacturing processes throughout the product lifecycle.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Design Engineer in sheet‑metal press part manufacturing or a similar environment.
• Strong ability to work independently, meet deadlines and communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Proven capability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design software: AutoCAD, CATIA and Cimatron.
• Hands‑on experience in sheet‑metal blank development.
• Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• 3D modelling, 2D drawing generation and BOM creation.
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA and tool manufacturing processes.
