Senior Design Engineer – Flight Control Actuation

About the role

Moog is seeking a highly motivated Senior Design Engineer to join its Flight Control Actuation team in Bangalore. The role focuses on designing airworthy actuation components for primary and high‑lift flight systems, collaborating with global stakeholders and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Translate specifications into mechanical, electromechanical and hydromechanical designs for airworthy products.
• Conceptualize and detail parts and assemblies for primary and high‑lift actuation systems.
• Incorporate optimal machining, casting, forging and additive manufacturing considerations.
• Perform tolerance layout and stack‑up analysis, accounting for materials and heat‑treatment processes.
• Produce 3D models, 2‑D drawings, reports and presentation materials.
• Make decisions on non‑conforming products and ensure design margins, weight optimization and envelope efficiency.
• Support customer engagements, RFI/RFP responses and technical proposals.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve design engineering productivity.
• Maintain quality, technical excellence and on‑time delivery of engineering deliverables.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in actuation component design for aerospace applications.
• Knowledge of aerospace materials, heat‑treatment and surface‑treatment processes.
• Familiarity with RTCA DO‑160 requirements and V&V planning.
• Experience with DFSS tools (RSS, Monte Carlo, DOE), DFMEA, DFMA, CIs and KCs.
• Exposure to requirements management using DOORS.
• Proficiency in performance analysis and modelling with MATLAB‑Simulink.
