Senior Db2 LUW Database Administrator

About the role

The Senior Db2 LUW Database Administrator will join Ensono’s Global Implementation & Operational team, supporting mission‑critical Db2 environments for multiple clients. Reporting to the Db2 LUW Manager, you will work in a shared‑support model, collaborating with global DBAs and client contacts to deliver reliable database services, participate in on‑call rotations and apply automation and AI to improve efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, upgrade and maintain Db2 LUW environments for several clients.
• Perform installations, patches, upgrades and migrations of Db2 LUW instances.
• Define and enforce Db2 LUW standards, governance and security policies.
• Analyze and tune database configuration, indexes, physical design and SQL for optimal performance.
• Provide 24x7 on‑call support, incident resolution and escalation for complex issues.
• Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting, Ansible or Terraform and explore AI‑driven improvements.
• Mentor junior and mid‑level DBAs and create documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience administering Db2 LUW, including builds, upgrades, patching and migrations.
• Strong performance‑tuning expertise and deep knowledge of HADR, TSA/Pacemaker and security configuration.
• Proficiency with UNIX/Linux and Windows platforms.
• Experience with backup strategies, transaction‑log management and LDAP integration.
• Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with clients and participate in rotating shift schedules.
