Senior Data Governance Engineer (Azure & Databricks)

About the role

PwC is looking for a Senior Data Governance Engineer to lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks within the Azure ecosystem. You will work on Databricks platforms to ensure data quality, security, compliance and accessibility for the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain enterprise‑wide data governance policies, procedures and standards on Azure.
• Use Azure Purview to manage data catalogs, lineage, classification and metadata across multiple sources.
• Configure and manage Databricks Unity Catalog and, where applicable, Databricks Genie for orchestration.
• Collaborate with data engineering, security, compliance and business teams to enforce data quality and regulatory requirements.
• Provide guidance and best‑practice recommendations for data governance across the organisation.

Required profile

• Strong expertise in the Azure ecosystem and Databricks platform.
• Hands‑on experience with PySpark, Python and SQL.
• Deep knowledge of data governance tools such as Azure Purview and Databricks Unity Catalog.
• Familiarity with Databricks Genie is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with technical and business stakeholders.
