Java Developer (Microservices & AWS)

About the role

We are seeking a mid‑level Java Developer to build scalable microservices and REST APIs in a cloud‑first environment. The role is part of an agile squad delivering digital platforms used by millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain microservices using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and AWS.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs within a microservices architecture.
• Ensure high quality and performance through coding standards and best practices.
• Implement testing strategies such as TDD/BDD, unit, integration, end‑to‑end and performance testing.
• Support production environments, troubleshoot issues and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to create customer‑centric digital solutions.
• Coach and support junior developers within the team.

Required profile

• Strong experience with Java 17+ and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs in microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with design patterns, clean‑code principles and agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
• Understanding of AWS services and containerisation with Docker.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk.
• Ability to provide production support and troubleshoot live issues.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
