Senior Data Governance – AI‑Driven Metadata Management

About the role

Capco is looking for a Senior Data Governance professional to own the AI‑enabled metadata management product within the Chief Data Office’s enterprise data strategy. The role focuses on aligning metadata initiatives with regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, Basel III and GDPR, and on driving transparency of Critical Data Elements and Critical Risk Measures.

Key responsibilities

• Define and maintain the product vision and roadmap for AI‑driven metadata management, prioritising features that improve data quality, lineage and regulatory compliance.
• Translate business and regulatory requirements into functional specifications and use cases for AI/ML‑based metadata solutions.
• Lead stakeholder workshops, capture requirements for BCBS 239 lineage and ownership traceability, and act as the CDO’s point of contact across risk, finance and compliance.
• Establish KPIs, dashboards and reporting to monitor metadata quality, completeness and usage.
• Collaborate with data‑science and technology teams to validate AI models and advise on market trends and vendor solutions.

Required profile

• Strong background in metadata management, including data lineage, cataloguing and business glossaries.
• Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as BCBS 239, Basel III, GDPR and AML.
• Proven stakeholder‑management skills with the ability to influence senior executives and auditors.

Required skills

• Experience with metadata management platforms.
• Hands‑on knowledge of AI/ML techniques for automated metadata discovery and classification.
• Familiarity with agile product management frameworks, especially Scrum.
