Senior Cargo Planning Agent

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Cargo Planning Agent to join our operations in Ahmedabad. The role focuses on ensuring cargo flights are optimally planned, booked and executed, supporting QR Cargo’s revenue and service objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate flight booking details before FBL release, performing compatibility checks and advance booking optimisation.
• Verify that listed air waybills are ready for flight planning and initiate re‑booking when required.
• Release FBLs within agreed timeframes, providing accurate planning guidelines aligned with revenue and space optimisation tools.
• Revise FBLs for last‑minute changes such as aircraft downgrades, cancellations or load adjustments.
• Process recovery of offloaded shipments by reprotecting them on subsequent flights within agreed processing times.
• Maximise repair of offloaded shipments to subsequent flights within 24 hours to protect quality and revenue.
• Conduct first‑level post‑flight analysis to identify causes of sub‑optimal planning and highlight anomalies.
• Escalate and prioritise shipments requiring special handling, including VIP or high‑value shipments.
• Perform other department duties as directed by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in cargo planning, capacity management, logistics/supply chain or airline reservations.
• Strong knowledge of cargo operational and commercial processes.
• Proven ability to adapt to evolving operational and commercial needs.
• Good command of English.
• Willingness to work shifts, including night shifts.
