About the role
The Senior Buyer is responsible for executing the ordering and delivery process for materials and equipment in line with established specifications, budgets, and quality standards. This role works closely with internal users and vendors to ensure timely and cost‑effective procurement.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct day‑to‑day procurement activities following all relevant policies, processes, and SOPs.
- Review purchase requisitions, prepare internal cost estimates, and evaluate techno‑commercial offers.
- Negotiate with vendors on price, quality, and delivery terms and prepare term sheets for approval.
- Create and process purchase orders in the SAP system, ensuring accurate entries.
- Coordinate with end‑users on procurement plans and monitor delivery schedules.
- Identify, qualify, and assess vendors, managing performance against set criteria.
- Address internal and external audit queries related to procurement activities.
Required profile
- Proven experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably at a senior level.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, technical specifications, and vendor risk assessment.
- Ability to follow structured processes and maintain compliance with MM&C guidelines.
- Effective communication with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
