Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

About the role

The Amherst Group is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to transform raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions across risk, finance, and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business units to gather reporting requirements and provide analytical support.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from complex systems and data warehouses.
• Design and enhance Tableau dashboards to communicate KPIs, trends, and financial metrics.
• Work on data ETL processes with engineering teams to ensure smooth data flow for reporting.
• Develop new metrics and performance indicators to support evolving business strategies and regulatory needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience as a BI Analyst or similar role.
• Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• SQL (T‑SQL, PL/SQL or similar)
• Tableau (dashboard design, storytelling, performance tuning)
• Python, VBA, JavaScript for data analysis and automation
• Familiarity with data warehousing, ETL concepts and tools
• Exposure to Databricks for large‑scale data processing
