Senior Business Analyst, Sales and Use Tax

About the role

Ryan is hiring a Senior Business Analyst for its Sales and Use Tax practice in Hyderabad. The analyst works with India and U.S. teams, applying data analytics technologies to solve problems in transaction tax. The role involves gathering requirements, designing and deploying solutions, managing project communications and training machine learning models to extract text from documents, with minimal supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Streamline document processing, train machine learning models to extract text from documents and build analytic workflows.
• Respond to client inquiries and requests on time, keep stakeholders informed of project status and deliver quality work products.
• Extract, cleanse, transform, validate and model data, including importing and downloading data from ERP and accounting systems.
• Use OCR tools to collect data points from unstructured documents and pre-populate fields in PDFs.
• Build, implement and manage Alteryx workflows and macros using Excel and Access VBA, and develop custom programming tools for client tasks.
• Develop user test cases, run user acceptance testing and sign-offs, and reconcile client data with Microsoft Access and SQL Server.
• Solicit, analyze and report stakeholder requirements, and lead and contribute to meetings, design sessions and workshops.
• Follow security policies for client data and work with global offices by email and telephone.

Required profile

• Masters or Bachelor's degree.
• 5+ years of experience developing solutions in SQL databases, Python and/or VBA.
• 2+ years of experience with Alteryx (strongly preferred).
• Willingness to work shifts between 2:00 PM and 11:00 PM IST, with occasional overtime during peak season.
