Senior Test Automation Engineer

About the role

Ryan is looking for a Senior Test Automation Engineer in Hyderabad to contribute to a strategic initiative that reimagines a broad suite of enterprise-level applications. The role ensures the quality, reliability and performance of software through a balanced mix of automated and manual testing, while championing quality standards across the SDLC. It calls for hands-on engineering, strong ownership and the ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, execute and maintain test plans covering functional, integration, regression and performance scenarios, and turn requirements into manual and automated test cases.
• Provide feedback to Business Analysts so requirements are clear, testable and traceable, and define the automation strategy aligned with enterprise standards and release cadence.
• Estimate and plan testing activities with Product and Engineering leads.
• Design, implement and maintain scalable automation frameworks, integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and work with DevOps on parallelization and environment provisioning.
• Define KPIs such as defect leakage, test pass rate and code coverage, run root-cause analysis on escaped defects, and keep testing documentation up to date.
• Work with developers, product managers and UX designers, lead technical discussions, mentor junior engineers and own UI, API and database automation frameworks.

Required profile

• Six to nine years of experience in software quality engineering focused on automation for web and API-based applications.
• Proven ability to design, implement and scale automation frameworks in an Agile environment.
• Strong SQL skills and experience validating data across relational and NoSQL stores.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• C#/.NET Core, Selenium, Playwright and SpecFlow
• Postman and JMeter for API testing
• CI/CD and Azure or AWS cloud services
• Deep knowledge of test automation patterns, frameworks and performance engineering
