Senior BI Engineer - Tableau Subject Matter Expert

About the role

Blend360 is seeking a hands‑on Tableau Subject Matter Expert to lead the design, development and governance of enterprise‑grade dashboards. The role combines deep Tableau expertise with experience in the Microsoft analytics stack (Power BI and Fabric) to solve complex client challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build sophisticated Tableau dashboards with advanced calculations (LOD, table calculations), data source modeling, and storytelling UX.
• Prepare and shape data using Tableau Prep, SQL, and choose optimal live or extract connections.
• Develop and review Power BI reports, DAX models and advise on Fabric lakehouse/warehouse design.
• Diagnose performance issues, tune extracts, filters and push logic to the database.
• Implement row‑level security, manage Tableau Server/Cloud sites, projects, permissions and schedules.
• Provide escalation support, conduct workbook reviews, mentor developers and guide clients on Tableau adoption and roadmap.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on Tableau experience at a subject‑matter‑expert level.
• Strong SQL and data‑modeling skills, with proven performance‑tuning expertise.
• Excellent client‑facing communication and ability to explain trade‑offs between Tableau, Power BI and Fabric.

Required skills

• Tableau Desktop, Server and Cloud (publishing, permissions, administration).
• Advanced Tableau calculations (LOD, table calculations, parameters).
• SQL, Tableau Prep, data source design (relationships, joins, blends).
• Power BI (DAX, Power Query, semantic modeling).
• Microsoft Fabric components (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Dataflows Gen2, Direct Lake, OneLake).
• Python for scripting (TabPy, pandas) and Tableau REST/Metadata APIs.
• Row‑level security implementation.
