Senior Associate – Payments Architecture & Consulting

About the role

As a Senior Associate in PwC’s Advisory line of service, you will join the Application and Emerging Technology team to help clients identify, prioritize and integrate emerging payment technologies. You will work on complex transformation projects that span strategy, design and delivery, primarily for banks and financial services organisations in the Delhi NCR region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end payment transformation initiatives from strategy formulation to implementation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional architecture teams to define technical direction for key business initiatives.
• Manage trade‑offs between speed‑to‑market, quality and financial impact.
• Maintain and grow client relationships, reporting to managers and senior leaders.
• Mentor and train junior staff, fostering technical acumen within the team.
• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities with existing and new clients.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of experience in payments and technology architecture.
• Proven track record delivering complex transformation projects.
• Experience with international payment transformation projects (1‑2 years preferred).
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and ability to communicate solutions to senior stakeholders.

Required skills

• Payments applications and channels (P2P, B2B, B2C, G2P).
• Message specifications such as ISO 20022 and ISO 8583.
• Middleware/integration platforms, databases and server/SAN storage.
• Cloud and on‑premise infrastructure.
• Payments security standards (PCI DSS, PA DSS).
• Architectural frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, Rational Unified Process).
