Senior Accountant – Record to Report, IFRS, BlackLine

About the role

The Senior Accountant will lead core accounting, reconciliation and month‑end close activities for Wolters Kluwer in Pune. You will ensure financial information is accurate, timely and compliant with IFRS and corporate policies, supporting a strong internal control environment.

Key responsibilities

• Execute assigned aspects of the month‑end close and reporting in line with the corporate calendar.
• Record and report transactions accurately and on time.
• Identify, assess and escalate accounting issues with supporting analysis.
• Perform and review GL, AP, AR and bank reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly or semi‑annual basis.
• Maintain and update desktop procedures for assigned processes.
• Adhere to close checklists and internal controls, ensuring timely completion.
• Prepare supporting schedules, analyses and reports with clear documentation.
• Partner with accounting, finance and operations teams to address inquiries.
• Manage ad‑hoc requests independently, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Participate in process‑improvement, automation and standardisation initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce with a specialization in Accounting.
• 7–9 years of progressive accounting or audit experience.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on general ledger and Record‑to‑Report experience.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and ability to apply corporate accounting policies.
• Experience in a controlled close environment with documentation and audit support.
• Background in large, complex GL environments, preferably in shared services or multinational settings.
