Security Officer

About the role

The Mercure Chennai Sriperumbudur hotel is seeking a diligent Security Officer to maintain a safe environment for guests, staff, and visitors. You will work across various hotel zones, ensuring that security systems operate smoothly and that any incidents are addressed promptly.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the duty roster prepared by the Director of Security, covering posts such as control room, lobby, loading bay, patrolling, back‑of‑house, and VIP parking.
• Monitor security systems, report faults, and take corrective action immediately.
• Coordinate with hotel departments, external agencies, and emergency services during routine operations and crises.
• Maintain accurate logs, inventory of keys, passes, walkie‑talkies, and other security assets.
• Inspect back‑of‑house areas for unauthorized entry and ensure cleanliness of the security room.

Required profile

• Secondary or high‑school education.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant security experience, preferably in a hotel or similar hospitality setting.
• Certificates in CPR, First Aid Management and Basic Fire Fighting are advantageous.
• Ability to work in a uniform, maintain high personal hygiene, and report for duty on time.
