Security Officer – Hotel Security

About the role

The Security Officer will safeguard guests, staff and assets at the ibis Thane hotel. Working under the direction of the Director of Security, you will rotate through various posts to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Key responsibilities

• Follow the duty roster and cover assignments such as control‑room monitoring, lobby, loading bay, patrolling, back‑of‑house, VIP parking and other security posts.
• Ensure all security systems (CCTV, alarms, access control) operate smoothly and take immediate corrective action when faults arise.
• Assist management, employees and guests in line with protection and prevention objectives.
• Coordinate with internal departments and government agencies during routine matters and emergencies.
• Monitor back‑of‑house areas, control unauthorized entry/exit points and maintain accurate log books.
• Report incidents to the Manager or Crisis Management Team and keep them updated during crises.
• Conduct inventory of keys, passes, walkie‑talkies, pagers and other accountable stock.
• Maintain cleanliness of the security room and stay familiar with fire‑life safety procedures.
• Attend briefings, meetings and training sessions as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 1 year of relevant security experience, preferably in a hotel environment.
• Secondary/high‑school education; additional certifications are advantageous.
• Good reading, writing and oral proficiency in English.
• No criminal record and a professional, well‑presented appearance at all times.

Required skills

• Security systems operation (CCTV, alarm and access‑control monitoring).
• CPR certification.
• First Aid certification.
• Basic fire‑fighting certification.
