Sea Logistics Operational Care Expert – Export

About the role

As a member of the Freight Forwarding team at Kuehne+Nagel, you will support the transport of goods worldwide, ensuring operational excellence for export shipments. You will work within the Operational Care Team to execute bookings, manage orders, and generate the required import documentation while collaborating closely with Customer Care Specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and report carrier and vendor performance, maintaining high data quality for customer reporting.
• Review routing changes, coordinate with CCL and service providers, and rearrange Kuehne+Nagel services when needed.
• Validate arrival notices and carrier invoices, ensuring timely receipt of Delivery Orders.
• Ensure shipping instructions and documents comply with regulations; address deviations promptly.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders for import shipments, arranging trucking and customs clearance.
• Escalate issues, support claim and dispute resolution.
• Check incoming invoices, create sales invoices, and manage freight services logistics according to financial guidelines.
• Release cargo in line with working instructions and financial policies.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in sea logistics or freight forwarding, preferably in import operations.
• Hands‑on experience managing end‑to‑end import shipments and cargo release.
• Strong knowledge of import documentation, shipping instructions, arrival notices and Delivery Orders.
• Experience coordinating with carriers, vendors, transporters and customs brokers.
• Understanding of routing changes, carrier schedules and shipment planning.
• Experience in carrier/vendor performance monitoring and operational reporting.
• Focus on data accuracy, quality and timely customer reporting.
• Knowledge of invoice validation, sales invoicing and financial guidelines.
• Experience handling operational escalations, claims and disputes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills with solid import compliance knowledge.
