SAP Architect, Accounting (S/4HANA)

About the role

Amgen's global Digital, Technology and Innovation (DTI) team is looking for an SAP Architect focused on Invoice to Settle operations (Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable). You will architect, design and implement SAP S/4HANA solutions and help guide the transition from the worldwide ERP instance on SAP ECC to the S/4HANA Intelligent Enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Design and architect SAP S/4HANA Vendor Invoice Management (VIM) solutions and integrate them with third-party systems, ensuring scalability, performance and security
• Work with business partners to understand requirements and turn them into technical specifications
• Ensure system build and configuration align with business goals and leading practices
• Run architectural reviews and assessments to identify risks and recommend mitigations
• Take part in sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives to deliver and sustain the S/4HANA ecosystem using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
• Build solutions that drive speed to value through AI/ML and strong control practices

Required profile

• Doctorate with 1 year of relevant SAP experience, or Master's with 4-6 years, or Bachelor's with 6-8 years, or Diploma with 10-12 years of relevant SAP experience
• US GAAP and/or IFRS knowledge and the ability to explain accounting concepts clearly
• Relevant SAP S/4HANA certification preferred

Required skills

• Hands-on experience configuring and building SAP S/4HANA Accounts Payable solutions (Vendor Invoice Management) and sub-ledger accounting
• Understanding of procure-to-pay and accounting processes, including disbursements, SAP payment processing and Payment Factory
• Good-to-have: SAP Ariba Procure to Pay, Scrum/Kanban, resolving issues across distributed SAP and non-SAP environments
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills, and ability to work with global virtual teams
