Safety & Health Manager – Aerospace Manufacturing

About the role

The Safety & Health Manager will lead the implementation and continuous improvement of safety, health and environmental systems at Hindalco Almex Aerospace Limited. This position ensures compliance with fire safety, hazardous material handling, and integrated management standards across a high‑technology aluminium billet production plant.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and monitor fire‑safety systems, including propane plant and molten‑metal operations.
• Develop, maintain and audit the Integrated Management System (AS9100, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).
• Conduct employee training on fire safety, health procedures and organizational safety culture.
• Record and investigate near‑misses, accidents and safety observations; drive corrective actions.
• Perform work‑area assessments, hazard surveys and recommend engineering or administrative controls.
• Issue work permits, distribute PPE and maintain accurate records.
• Prepare monthly EHS performance reports and ensure legal compliance with factory act regulations.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of safety requirements for propane plants and molten‑metal handling.
• Experience in conducting safety audits, accident investigations and hazard assessments.
• Ability to train and influence a large workforce on safety practices.
• Familiarity with Indian factory act and related legal safety obligations.
