Rural Housing Architect

About the role

The Rural Housing Architect will lead technical inputs for sustainable, climate‑resilient housing solutions in rural development programmes. You will work closely with government bodies, multilateral partners and skill councils to shape guidelines, pilots and policy frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise on rural housing, sustainable construction, climate‑resilient design and green building standards.
• Support the development of guidelines and pilot construction technologies.
• Manage programme delivery, policy documentation and implementation oversight for flagship rural development schemes.
• Draft policy notes, ministerial briefs, official correspondence, meeting minutes and prepare presentations for senior government audiences in GoI format.
• Coordinate with multilateral institutions, state governments, technical agencies and sector skill councils for stakeholder consultations and capacity‑building initiatives.

Required profile

• Background in architecture, urban planning, civil engineering or related built‑environment disciplines.
• Experience in housing design, construction quality assurance and spatial planning.
• Ability to work in policy‑driven environments and manage complex programmes.
