Rope Access Technician (Scaffolding)

About the role

Saipem is seeking experienced Rope Access Technicians specialized in scaffolding to work on various offshore vessels worldwide. The role involves accessing hard‑to‑reach structures, performing maintenance, inspections and repairs while adhering to strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Erect and dismantle a range of scaffold types, including independent tied, tower, birdcage, suspend and cantilever scaffolds, in compliance with Saipem scaffold procedures.
• Carry out regular equipment checks and pre‑job briefings to ensure safety and readiness.
• Perform rope‑access work according to OII global SOPs, IRATA Code of Practice and Global RA Manager instructions.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment usage and maintenance schedules.
• Ensure daily maintenance of plant and equipment throughout the work scope.
• Serve as a Level III Rope Access Supervisor, managing activities and supervising team members.

Required profile

• Extensive training and experience in rope‑access and scaffolding operations.
• Current IRATA certification (Level III) with ability to maintain recertification.
• Ability to work offshore on vessels worldwide and follow all relevant legislation and safety regulations.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with colleagues and clients.

• Rigging and equipment inspection.
• Record‑keeping of work and maintenance activities.
• IRATA Level III certification.
