Resident Medical Officer (RMO) – Full-time, Shift-Based

About the role

The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) is a full‑time, on‑site position based in Pune District. The RMO provides round‑the‑clock medical coverage, assessing patients, performing examinations, ordering investigations, and initiating treatment plans under senior consultants.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 24/7 medical coverage for in‑patients and out‑patients.
• Assess patients, perform initial examinations, and take detailed histories.
• Order and review diagnostic investigations and initiate treatment plans under guidance.
• Monitor patient progress, update clinical notes, and ensure timely documentation.
• Coordinate care with nursing and allied health teams to ensure safe, timely treatment.
• Respond to emergencies, assist in procedures, and support consultants during interventions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to hospital protocols and clinical guidelines.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families about care plans and progress.

Required profile

• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid registration.
• Prior experience as an RMO or in a similar clinical hospital role (preferred).
• Strong clinical assessment skills, including history‑taking, physical examination, and basic emergency management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with consultants, nurses, and support staff in a multispecialty environment.
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and colleagues.
• Commitment to patient safety, adherence to clinical protocols, and ethical medical practice.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records or hospital information systems.
