Research Chemist

About the role

We are seeking a Research Chemist to join our Innovation Campus in Navi Mumbai. You will work on the synthesis and scale‑up of organic molecules, contributing to the development of active ingredients for various applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, synthesize, and scale‑up small organic molecules from milligram to multikilogram quantities.
• Plan synthetic routes using retrosynthetic analysis and literature research.
• Develop and optimise processes for advanced intermediates and finished products.
• Document experiments, prepare lab development reports and tech‑transfer documentation.
• Support tolling activities and collaborate with cross‑functional teams including research, analytical and safety.
• Ensure compliance with BASF Environmental Health & Safety and HR policies.

Required profile

• Post‑graduate degree (M.Sc.) in organic chemistry with strong theoretical knowledge.
• 5–8 years of experience in the chemical, pharmaceutical or agro‑chemical industry as a chemist.
• Effective communication and technical skills to work in a multidisciplinary environment.
