About the role
We are looking for a remote Biology Lecturer to join a short‑term project focused on evaluating large language models (LLMs) with biology‑focused tasks. The role lasts three months and offers flexible hours, with a requirement of at least four hours of overlap with Pacific Standard Time.
Key responsibilities
- Design challenging biology problems that test the limits of LLMs across undergraduate to PhD‑level topics.
- Develop clear, step‑by‑step solutions with rigorous reasoning and provide detailed annotations for AI evaluation.
- Collaborate with LLM researchers to align problem types with evaluation goals and identify model weaknesses.
- Help define new benchmark datasets based on biology curricula.
- Explain biological concepts using simple language, visual aids, or simulations when appropriate.
- Provide constructive feedback on AI‑generated answers and contribute to workflow improvements.
Required profile
- Master’s degree or PhD (or current PhD/Post‑doc) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical and logical problem‑solving abilities.
- Excellent written communication and ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Access to a reliable desktop or laptop with internet connection.
