Regulatory Affairs Manager

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a seasoned Regulatory Affairs Manager to lead policy analysis, permitting, and stakeholder engagement for its renewable energy projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with national and state energy regulations while supporting the development and operation of wind, solar, and storage assets.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor, interpret and analyse central and state energy policies, tariff orders, and case law affecting renewable projects.
• Conduct regulatory due diligence, grid‑connectivity feasibility studies and provide strategic advice throughout project lifecycles.
• Represent the company before regulatory commissions, government authorities and industry bodies during public hearings and sector events.
• Draft and submit comments, petitions and replies on proposed regulations to protect business interests.
• Coordinate high‑level liaison with government departments and nodal agencies to obtain project clearances, grid interconnections and statutory permits.
• Oversee permitting and siting activities, including land‑use assessments and environmental impact studies.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of energy laws, Renewable Portfolio Standards and environmental regulations.
• Experience in renewable energy project permitting, grid interconnection and contract negotiation (PPAs, land leases).
• Proven ability to engage with regulators, policymakers and industry stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills.
