R&D Laboratory Support Engineer

About the role

The R&D Laboratory Support Engineer ensures timely analysis and accurate reporting of raw materials, process samples, and finished products in a plant environment. The role focuses on maintaining compliance, documentation, and inventory control while supporting accreditation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Perform and report analysis of incoming raw material, process samples, and finished products within defined shift timelines.
• Maintain 100% compliance with routine shift activities and reporting standards.
• Develop Job Safety Analyses (JSA), Standard Work Instructions (SWI), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all laboratory activities.
• Manage ISO documentation, data keeping, and ensure proper record control.
• Monitor and control chemicals and glassware inventory, including waste tracking.
• Implement and sustain 5S and Basic Condition Evaluation (BCE) improvements to reduce waste and loss.
• Prepare and execute action plans to achieve NABL accreditation for Coal, Alumina, and Bauxite testing.

Required profile

• Experience in laboratory analysis and reporting within an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with ISO documentation, JSA, SWI, and SOP development.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain compliance standards.
• Knowledge of inventory management for chemicals and glassware.
• Understanding of 5S principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
