R&D Engineer – High Voltage Switchgear

About the role

The R&D Engineer will work within the Global Product Support (GPS) function, focusing on high‑voltage switchgear products. The role is responsible for maintaining and updating product master data throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring data quality and compliance with change‑management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain product master data, including drawings, bills of materials, technical instructions, variants and decision tables.
• Implement GPS processes and tools, meet defined KPIs and propose continuous‑improvement ideas.
• Act as a liaison between GPS and other functions, ensuring smooth information flow across product platforms.
• Collaborate with GPS resource managers to accelerate knowledge transfer and improve efficiency.
• Support product and platform harmonisation initiatives to reduce complexity and cost.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–6 years of professional experience, preferably in product support or lifecycle management.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and attention to deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
• Good knowledge of international standards and testing requirements is a plus.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Commitment to safety, integrity, ownership and collaborative teamwork.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ProE (PTC Creo) CAD software.
