Quantity Surveyor (QS Engineer) – Civil Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer to join a commercial hotel construction project in Vijayawada/Amaravati. The role involves managing quantities, cost control and billing on‑site for a large‑scale civil building.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review BOQs, quantity take‑offs and estimates for civil and finishing works.
• Derive detailed quantity calculations from architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
• Conduct regular site measurements, maintain accurate records and verify contractor/sub‑contractor bills.
• Review and process subcontractor RA bills, work orders and supporting documents.
• Prepare client bills / RA bills and ensure timely submission.
• Perform rate analysis for civil, structural and finishing items.
• Monitor project quantities against the BOQ, identify variations and prepare variation statements.
• Track project costs, reconcile key material quantities and support cost‑control activities.
• Coordinate with Project Manager, Site Engineers, Planning, Purchase, Accounts and subcontractors.
• Check drawings and specifications for quantity/cost implications before execution.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor / QS Engineer in civil/building construction.
• Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience with BOQ preparation, quantity take‑off, measurements and billing.
• Familiarity with civil construction drawings, specifications and subcontractor/client billing processes.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Excel.
• Experience with quantity/billing‑related software.
