QA & Test Automation Engineer (Translation Hub)

About the role

Amgen is hiring a QA and Test Automation Support Engineer for its Translation Hub quality assurance team within Enterprise Data Strategy & Engineering. You will work closely with, and under the guidance of, a Product Architect and Software Engineers to support testing and validation of the Translation Hub platform, with a focus on translation quality, validation and API testing. The role contributes to data integrity across complex data pipelines and validates the business logic behind machine translations.

Key responsibilities

• Execute automated test suites across translation pipelines, APIs and proxy layers
• Analyse test results, identify failures and inconsistencies, and help with root cause analysis
• Generate and share test execution reports with stakeholders, summarising pass/fail rates and key issues
• Collaborate with developers to triage automation failures and escalate critical issues
• Assist with test data preparation and test environment setup, and perform manual validation where needed
• Log and track defects in JIRA (or similar tools) and follow up on resolutions
• Maintain test documentation, including test cases, runbooks and regression packs
• Contribute to test automation scripting, framework maintenance, CI/CD and Veracode integrations
• Validate translation workflows on platforms such as AWS and with internal tools, and test Fast APIs, glossary creation and post-editing of MT documents with the translation memory

Required profile

• 3 to 5 years of overall experience in QA and test automation
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science and engineering preferred
• Good communication, collaboration, analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to work with global, virtual teams

Required skills

• Hands-on experience running and analysing automated test suites
• Defect tracking in JIRA or similar tools
• Basic test automation scripting (Python, Java or similar)
• SQL for data validation
• API testing (REST and FastAPIs) and schema validation
• Cloud data platforms such as AWS, Databricks or Snowflake
• CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI
• Nice to have: CAT tools, agile testing (SAFe), Selenium, JUnit, TestNG or PyTest
