QA Engineer III – Test Automation for Distributed Data Platform

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on QA Engineer III to drive test automation and system validation for DDN’s large‑scale distributed data platform, Infinia. In this role you will design test strategies, build automation frameworks and work closely with development, QA and DevOps teams to ensure high product quality.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute system test plans for components such as scheduling, memory, I/O paths and platform services.
• Validate functionality, data consistency and multi‑tenant behavior across varied scenarios.
• Design, develop and maintain automated test cases using Python and pytest, and contribute to existing frameworks.
• Explore and introduce new tools to improve automation efficiency.
• Execute performance, scalability and reliability tests, analysing logs, metrics and monitoring data.
• Collaborate with developers and QA peers to understand features, reproduce issues and verify fixes.
• Document test cases, results, defects and validation reports, and help improve QA processes.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Python for test automation.
• Proven experience building comprehensive automation suites for complex systems.
• Hands‑on experience with test frameworks such as pytest, unittest or Robot Framework.
• Understanding of distributed storage system testing challenges.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing integration.
• Advanced Linux skills, including networking, filesystems and block storage.
• Familiarity with containerised testing environments and Docker.
