PVD Coating Operator

About the role

We are looking for a motivated PVD Coating Operator to join our high‑tech metal manufacturing team in India. You will work with tungsten and molybdenum coating equipment to support the production of precision cutting tools for automotive, aerospace, electronics and engineering sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Operate PVD coating machines and related equipment according to approved process parameters and work instructions.
• Load and unload cutting tools, fixtures and coating batches while ensuring proper handling and product protection.
• Prepare tools for coating through cleaning, fixture mounting, masking and batch preparation.
• Monitor vacuum levels, temperature, pressure, gas flow and cycle times to guarantee process compliance.
• Perform pre‑coating and post‑coating inspections to verify quality and specification adherence.
• Maintain accurate production records, coating logs, inspection reports and batch traceability documentation.
• Carry out routine machine, chamber and fixture cleaning as well as Autonomous Maintenance activities.
• Report any coating defects, equipment abnormalities, process deviations or safety concerns and support corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, environmental and 5S standards while contributing to productivity and continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• ITI qualification in Fitter, Turner, Machinist, Tool & Die Maker, Mechanical Trades or equivalent.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy or related field is a plus.
• 1‑3 years of experience in coating operations, vacuum technology, heat treatment or precision manufacturing environments.
• Basic knowledge of PVD coating processes used in cutting‑tool manufacturing.
• Understanding of vacuum systems, coating equipment, fixtures and batch processing.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, process sheets, inspection requirements and production documentation.
