Public Health Faculty Position

About the role

Azim Premji University is seeking academics and experienced public‑health practitioners to join its new Faculty of Public Health. The role involves teaching, research, and active participation in building the university’s interdisciplinary programmes and institutional culture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses in public health.
• Mentor and guide students through academic and professional development.
• Conduct and publish research aligned with the university’s focus on health systems, social determinants, and health equity.
• Engage with public‑health practice, policy development, and public writing.
• Contribute to interdisciplinary programme design, institutional processes, and university bodies.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in public‑health teaching, research, or practice.
• Advanced degree in a relevant field (for academics) or a postgraduate degree with at least 10 years of field experience (for practitioners).
• Strong analytical, reflective, and critical thinking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Collaborative orientation and willingness to work with a diverse student body.
• Experience in ground‑up policy development is desirable.
