Project Manager – AI & Data Operations

About the role

Deccan AI is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex client initiatives across AI, data, and operations. The role will drive end‑to‑end delivery of 0‑to‑1 projects, build operational frameworks, and ensure alignment with client and internal stakeholder expectations. You will act as the central hub for project execution, balancing timelines, budgets, quality, and strategic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project planning, define scope, timelines, milestones and success metrics.
• Develop and execute detailed project plans, monitoring progress against goals.
• Manage budgets, forecasts and resource allocation, optimizing team utilization.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams spanning operations, product, AI, engineering and business functions.
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients and senior leadership, providing regular status updates.
• Identify risks and issues, create mitigation strategies and drive timely resolution.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and implement process improvements.
• Track project metrics, report to leadership and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including plans, risk registers and post‑project reviews.
• Mentor team members and foster a culture of collaboration and execution excellence.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing complex, multi‑disciplinary projects in AI or data‑focused environments.
• Strong ability to lead cross‑functional teams and influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills with a focus on results.
• Track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.
• Experience with budget management, resource planning and risk mitigation.
• Ability to translate technical concepts into clear business outcomes.
