Project Engineer – Operations Engineering

About the role

Amazon’s Projects team is looking for a Project Engineer to lead the planning, design and delivery of new and expanded fulfillment facilities in East India. The role will oversee greenfield, brownfield and improvement projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities

• Lead site selection together with the Real Estate team and conduct feasibility assessments.
• Manage the full project lifecycle – assessment, design, execution and performance qualification.
• Ensure statutory, legal and safety compliance throughout design and construction.
• Develop scope of work, cost estimates and prepare build‑out CAPEX requests.
• Coordinate with Project Management Consultants, procurement and vendors to secure resources and materials.
• Monitor progress, quality and budget adherence, delivering snag‑free handovers to Facilities.
• Drive standardisation, energy‑conservation and productivity improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale construction or facility projects, preferably in a logistics or e‑commerce environment.
• Strong understanding of project financial processes and budget control.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and external consultants.
• Excellent problem‑solving and decision‑making skills.
