Road Operator

About the role

The Road Operator position in Asotin County’s Public Works Department is a full‑time, 40‑hour per week role focused on the safe and efficient maintenance and construction of county roads and bridges. The incumbent will operate heavy road and bridge maintenance equipment and perform manual labor as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on county roads and bridges.
• Operate heavy road and bridge maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
• Execute manual construction and repair tasks in accordance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with the Road Supervisor and other crew members to complete projects on schedule.

Required profile

• Current regular full‑time or part‑time employee of Asotin County (preferred).
• U.S. citizenship or authorized work status as required by the Immigration Reform & Control Act.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Willingness to submit an application to the Human Resources Department before consideration.

Required skills

• Operation of heavy road and bridge maintenance equipment.
