Programme Director

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Programme Director to lead its urban development programme in Jaipur. The role provides overall leadership and strategic direction for multiple urban infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery within approved scope, budget, schedule and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the strategic direction of the urban development programme.
• Plan, implement and monitor multiple infrastructure work packages.
• Develop and maintain the Programme Management Plan, implementation strategy and delivery roadmap.
• Coordinate with urban local bodies, state departments, government authorities and other institutional stakeholders.
• Review and approve project implementation plans, schedules, budgets and resource requirements.
• Establish programme‑level KPIs, milestones, monitoring mechanisms and reporting systems.
• Oversee project management consultants, design consultants, contractors and technical agencies.
• Ensure effective procurement and contract management in line with government procedures.
• Monitor financial progress, cash flow and budget utilisation, and manage variations, claims and extensions of time.
• Lead risk identification, mitigation and escalation at programme level.

Required profile

• 25+ years of overall professional experience, preferably in urban infrastructure or development programmes.
• 10–12 years of experience in senior management, programme or project leadership roles.
• Proven ability to deliver large‑scale projects within scope, budget and schedule.
• Experience coordinating with government agencies, urban local bodies and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong financial, contractual and risk management expertise.
