Production Associate – Level II (Manufacturing Technician)

About the role

The Production Associate – Level II works on the assembly line to operate production equipment and support manufacturing processes, ensuring high‑quality output while adhering to safety, quality and productivity standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated production equipment safely to meet production targets, quality and cycle‑time requirements.
• Perform assembly line tasks following work instructions, engineering drawings and SOPs, including machine setup, changeovers and tool‑offset adjustments.
• Load, unload and align fixtures, and verify process parameters to ensure proper product positioning and compliance with specifications.
• Conduct in‑process and final quality inspections, apply SPC, poka‑yoke and visual‑management techniques, and report non‑conforming material.
• Participate in root‑cause analysis, corrective actions and continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce defects and improve First Time Right performance.
• Execute routine cleaning, inspection and preventive maintenance on equipment, support PM activities and assist maintenance teams with basic troubleshooting.
• Follow Cummins health, safety and environmental policies, wear required PPE and maintain a clean 5S workplace.

Required profile

• Experience operating production equipment in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions and SOPs.
• Commitment to quality, safety and continuous‑improvement practices.
