Process Safety Lead Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Process Safety Lead Engineer to drive safety engineering activities across major capital projects in the offshore oil & gas and petrochemical sectors. The role will lead the development and implementation of process safety concepts, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process safety design for production and utility systems, including crude oil, water treatment, flare networks, and chemical injection.
• Conduct process safety audits, HAZID/HAZOP studies, SIL, LOPA, Bow‑Tie, PHSER, QRA and dispersion analyses.
• Prepare hazardous area classification schedules, drawings, safety design basis, and risk assessment reports.
• Size and calculate safety valves and flare networks using tools such as Aspen, HYSYS, and FlareNet.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary deliverables for Conceptual, FEED and EPC phases and support design reviews, 3‑D models and P&IDs.
• Guide junior engineers, ensure quality compliance with company and client standards, and perform technical audits.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in process safety for offshore production, LPG/LNG storage, and petrochemical facilities.
• Proven ability to work on multidisciplinary projects and manage safety design documentation.
• Strong knowledge of engineering standards (NORSOK, DNVGL‑OS, API, NFPA, ASME, BS/EN) and client standards (Shell, Aramco, Mobil, NMA, DNV).
• Hands‑on experience with safety valve and flare network sizing, risk assessments and emergency response planning.
