Principal Software Engineer

About the role

Keka is a people platform for growing enterprises, combining HR, payroll and talent in one system, trusted by more than 12,500 companies. Its Engineering team is growing fast and is looking for a Principal Software Engineer who will lead the design and architecture of scalable, maintainable software and set the technical standards for the team. The team is language agnostic, choosing the right language and stack for each problem.

Key responsibilities

• Own the architecture of scalable, maintainable solutions end to end, from design and proof of concept to delivery and production reliability.
• Lead architectural decisions and technical guidelines, and assess technical feasibility with Product teams.
• Partner with architects, managers and cross-functional teams to align development with project goals and timelines.
• Improve code quality and engineering practices through code reviews, technical design reviews and agile participation.
• Mentor engineers on best practices and coding standards.
• Develop Web APIs and new product features, introduce and evaluate new technologies, and troubleshoot complex production issues with detailed root cause analysis.

Required profile

• 10 to 18 years of experience in software engineering, with a track record of leading architectural decisions and mentoring teams.
• Solid understanding of design and architectural patterns, including MVC, MVVM and microservices.
• Experience architecting and building multi-threaded, distributed systems, with strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms and performance design.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required skills

• Web API development, OOPS, SOLID principles and SQL databases.
• Proficiency in any modern language.NET, C# and EF Core are an added advantage.
• CI/CD pipelines, AWS or Azure cloud services and Git branching strategies.
