Principal Product Management Technical (PMT)

About the role

Mastercard’s Payments Network Technology team is looking for a Principal Product Management Technical (PMT) professional to shape the capabilities of its payment‑network platform. The role will drive vision, define features, and ensure alignment across engineering, architecture, testing, and customer‑facing teams.

Key responsibilities

• Own the vision, narrative, and measurable outcomes for assigned platform capabilities.
• Translate customer, operational, and business needs into prioritized features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Make trade‑off recommendations across scope, timelines, risk, and technical investment.
• Coordinate requirements and dependencies with engineering, architecture, testing, operations, and customer‑facing teams.
• Review demonstrations and validation evidence against acceptance criteria before release.
• Maintain clear product documentation and use production or validation metrics to inform the backlog.
• Identify feature‑level delivery or customer risks and drive prioritization and resolution.
• Provide technical or product leadership, mentor team members, and drive decisions across multiple workstreams.

Required profile

• Experience in technical product management, product ownership, business analysis, or payment‑product validation.
• Strong understanding of payment transaction flows and industry message standards.
• Ability to work closely with engineers and architects on APIs, data models, non‑functional requirements, and operational behavior.
• Data‑driven decision‑making and solid product documentation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
