Prescription Services Coordinator – Medical Assistant (Radiation Therapy)

About the role

The Prescription Services Coordinator works within a Cancer Center to support radiation therapy patients. This full‑time, non‑exempt position assists in delivering primary health care, preparing patients for examinations and treatments, and ensuring safe operation of clinical equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare patients for radiation therapy examinations and treatments.
• Perform phlebotomy and draw blood samples as required.
• Operate, start‑up, monitor, and shut down laboratory and medical equipment.
• Maintain accurate patient records, test results, and quality‑control documentation.
• Assist with CT preparation and support emergency situations calmly.
• Participate in meetings, committees, and training of new employees.
• Follow safety protocols and adhere to departmental guidelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED; CNA/Medical Assistant certification preferred.
• Professional demeanor with strong customer‑service focus.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lb and perform standing/walking duties.
• Clear visual acuity and hearing.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Phlebotomy (blood draw) proficiency.
• Laboratory equipment operation.
