Post-Doctoral Research Associate – Integrated Pest Management

About the role

The Mahindra University – Virginia Tech Interdisciplinary Research Center is seeking a Post‑Doctoral Research Associate to lead an integrated pest‑management program targeting the melon fly across major cucurbit crops in India. The role combines field work, laboratory experiments, and collaborative coordination with national and international partners.

Key responsibilities

• Follow scientific direction from Virginia Tech collaborators.
• Coordinate activities with current and future research partners, including universities, industry, and government agencies.
• Design and conduct field and laboratory experiments on melon fly biology and control methods.
• Organise workshops, field days, and stakeholder training sessions.
• Prepare technical reports, scientific publications, and manage the project website.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Entomology with a focus on integrated pest management, biological control, or insect ecology.
• Knowledge of biogeography and experience with relevant computer programs.
• Strong communication abilities and experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
