PHP Developer – Healthcare Compliance & ONC Certification

About the role

We are seeking an experienced PHP Developer to design, build, and maintain backend services that enable our platform to meet the ONC Health IT Certification Program requirements. You will work closely with compliance, QA, and clinical informatics teams to translate regulatory specifications into robust software solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement PHP‑based backend services and APIs that satisfy ONC certification criteria.
• Develop and maintain FHIR R4 and SMART on FHIR APIs for data exchange and certification conditions.
• Map and transform clinical data to align with USCDI data classes and elements.
• Collaborate with QA and compliance teams to prepare for ONC‑ACB testing and surveillance.
• Integrate with EHR/EMR systems using HL7 v2, CCD/C‑CDA documents, and other healthcare formats.
• Write and maintain test cases linked to certification test procedures and support real‑world testing cycles.
• Document technical implementations for audit readiness and certification submissions.
• Stay up‑to‑date with ONC rule updates and translate regulatory changes into technical requirements.

Required profile

• 4+ years of professional PHP development experience, preferably with Symfony or a comparable framework.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with regulated or compliance‑driven environments.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical specifications and regulatory guides.
• Excellent written documentation skills for audit and compliance purposes.
